The principal aims of the Thurgau Society of Natural Sciences (Thurgauische Naturforschende Gesellschaft (TNG)) are the promotion of the comprehension of natural sciences and the spread of knowledge in natural sciences in a comprehensible way.
For its members the TNG organises a varied one-year program consisting of lectures and excursions related to the natural sciences’ topics. At these open events non-members are also welcome. The society’s long-serving journal “Mitteilungen” includes detailed articles on natural sciences, paying particular attention to the region of Thurgau/Lake Constance. To encourage natural sciences’ works in the Canton of Thurgau, the TNG annually awards one high school thesis (Maturaarbeit) in natural sciences coming from Thurgau schools for its originality and excellent quality.
