Study programmes

The Swiss Hydrological Commission has provided an overview of the study opportunities in Switzerland in the field of hydrology at bachelor and master level. Only programmes in which own courses in the field of hydrology are offered are listed. At the universities, many of the courses listed can also be completed as a Minor.

With its Environmental Sciences and Engineering, Civil Engineering and Mechanical Engineering degree programmes, EPF Lausanne offers the opportunity to focus on hydrological topics from an engineering perspective.

Hydrology is taught in the study programmes Environmental Sciences, Earth Sciences, Environmental Engineering and Civil Engineering. The Master's programmes offer a variety of courses that focus on the subject of water.

Wer in der Schweiz Geographie studieren möchte, für den stellt sich die Frage, welches Institut er oder sie wählen soll und aus welchen Gründen. Für Lena Bühlmann, Pascal Steinemann und Marius Vögtli, Copräsidentin und Copräsidenten des Verbands Junge Geographie Schweiz (JGS) und Gastautorin und -autoren der ersten Ausgabe der GeoAgenda im Jahr 2017, war dies der Anstoss, ein Porträt über die sieben universitären Geographieinstitute der Schweiz zu verfassen.
