23rd International Symposium on Society and Resource Management (ISSRM)
June 19-22, 2017 in Umeå, Sweden
The theme of the conference is Contested Spaces: Bridging Protection and Development in a Globalizing World. It problematizes the relationship between protection and development that is central to society and resource management nexus.
This year the conference takes place in Umeå, situated in beautiful northern Sweden.
Since its inception in 1986, the ISSRM conference has always had a broad focus that encompasses a wide variety of international resource management issues, environmental justice, collaborative stakeholder processes, and the social impacts of natural resource management.
Session proposals and abstracts are welcome across the range of ISSRM-related fields, including
