1st Swiss-UN Day

To mark 15 years since Switzerland joined the United Nations as a Member, the Gesellschaft Schweiz-UNO, the Centre for Development and Environment (CDE) and the World Trade Institute (WTI) of the University of Bern are co-hosting the first Swiss-UN Day on 23 March 2018.

1st UN-Swiss day

More than 20 panellists from international organisations, academia, civil society, political organisations and the Swiss administration will participate. Former Swiss Federal Councillor Joseph Deiss will open the event, which includes a keynote speech by HE Kofi Annan (tbc), former Secretary-General of the United Nations.

Panels will consider current global ecological, social, economic and institutional challenges. The focus will be on the action of the UN and the role of Switzerland in the UN. Presentations will be held in English, German and French, without translation. The detailed programme is available here.
