Observe Seasons and Weather Extremes for Science

On the OpenNature platform you can share your observations of nature with scientists. You can manage your own records and see what other observers have reported.

A “Citizen Science” Project

OpenNature is a "Citizen Science" project. This describes the cooperation of interested citizens and scientists in research projects. Collecting, documenting, sharing and analyzing observations among each other and with scientists plays a central role in environmental sciences. With OpenNature, “citizen scientists” can become part of climate research and OpenNature aims at collecting such data for scientific use. Through your involvement in OpenNature, the influence of climate change on nature and landscape, on the seasons and on extreme weather events can be better understood and you can gain insight into research results along the way.
