Which mRNA vaccines are approved or under development in Switzerland?
The mRNA vaccines developed by Moderna (Spikevax®) and Pfizer/Biontech (Comirnaty®) are available in Switzerland.
In addition to the original vaccines, three booster vaccines specifically targeting the Omicron variant are also authorized. From Moderna, these are a vaccine specific against the Omicron BA.4/5 subvariants (Spikevax® Original / Omicron BA.4-5) and a vaccine specific against the Omicron BA.1 subvariant (Spikevax® Bivalent Original/Omicron (mRNA-1273.214). From Pfizer/Biontech it is a vaccine specific against the Omicron sub-variant BA.1 (Comirnaty® Bivalent Original / Omicron BA.1 (Tozinameran / Riltozinameran)).
