Capacity Building
Our web portal focuses on written descriptions of "how to proceed" when applying a method. We acknowledge that there are additional aspects to be considered – e.g. moderation skills, theoretical underpinnings, wordings, the combination and sequencing of methods - in order to enhance the usefulness of the methods for a specific research purpose and the quality of their results (see 'Applying td methods and tools thoughtfully').
In this section, td-net will elaborate on further aspects of capacity building – complementing the profiles of the td-net toolbox and the experience reports.
This section is extended continuously.
Capacity building focusing on methods
In order to enhance learning effects, we link the online sources of the web portal with interpersonal exchange and mutual learning in 'offline' workshops. That fore, td-net and TdLab have developed several capacity building formats:
- Ten Reflective Steps for Rendering Research Societally Relevant (1-7 days)
- Early Career Scientist Transdisciplinary Workshop (1-3 days)
- Brown bag events to deepen and extend one's method repertoire (1-2 hours)
Please don’t hesitate to , if you’re interested in providing capacity building workshops in your institution or network or if you have any suggestion on how to enrich this section.
Method workshops can also be found on the events page of td-net.
Capacity building on transdisciplinary processes referring to methods
As methods are always means to an end, it may be instructive to first learn more about transdisciplinary processes and their aims in general, and then to link these learnings to specific examples of method application. You can do so in a MOOC, co-produced by td-net and several other institutions:
