Research on primates is particularly controversial in our society. The species that belong to this group of animals are particularly similar to humans because of their social behaviour, appearance, etc. Their faces, facial expressions, dexterity with hands and feet and their behaviour remind us very much of our own behaviour. Therefore, many people view research on primates as particularly critical.

How are primates kept and used in animal experiments?
Primates occupy a special position because of their resemblance with humans and because of their cognitive and emotional capabilities.
