The 12th symposium on "morphometrics and evolution of forms" will be held at the university of Burgundy (Dijon) from 5 to 7 june 2024.

This symposium focuses on the study of the biological evolution of shapes. It is open to anyone from different fields (palaeontology, anthropology, developmental biology, archaeology, medicine, evolutionary sciences, bioinformatics, etc.) who develops or applies quantitative methods for studying shapes.

The symposium has been held every 2 years for over 20 years. For this twelfth edition, it will be held over two and a half days and will bring together a large part of the national community. SMEF is also open to the international community. The languages of presentation will therefore be French and English.

The conference is open to researchers, lecturers, technical staff and students.

Stefan Horst Sommer, from the university of Copenhagen, will open this edition of SMEF as guest speaker.

Registration for the symposium is free, but is compulsory for organizational reasons. Lunches will be provided. Participants are responsible for their own transport, accommodation and evening meals.

Registration and submission of abstracts can be done online on the website : https://smef24.sciencesconf.org
