Relevance of IPBES action options for sectors in Switzerland

The Intergovernmental Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES) reports in its assessments a dramatic and accelerating decline in biodiversity. The ability of ecosystems to provide services for humans is also declining globally. IPBES presents a wide range of options for decision-makers on how to counteract biodiversity loss and preserve nature's contributions to people. On behalf of the Federal Office for the Environment, the Swiss Biodiversity Forum of the Swiss Academy of Sciences (SCNAT), in collaboration with 'Interface Politikstudien', examined the relevance of the IPBES policy options and formulated sector-specific and cross-sectoral recommendations for action that specify the IPBES policy options for Switzerland.
