IPBES Report on Business and Biodiversity

Summary for Policy Makers

All businesses depend on and impact biodiversity and can be agents of positive change. However, the current external conditions in which businesses operate are not compatible with achieving a just and sustainable future and perpetuate systemic risks. This IPBES report identifies methods for measuring interdependencies and impacts and outlines how an environment can be created in which companies act in ways that benefit themselves, biodiversity and society, and contribute to a just and sustainable future.
