Swiss Commission for Polar and High Altitude Research (SCPH)

This Commission serves as a strategic body for the Swiss community in polar and high altitude research and represents their scientific interests nationally as well as internationally. In order to promote young talents, it awards the Prix de Quervain.
At the national level, the Commission serves at the strategic body of the Swiss polar and high altitude research communities and represents their scientific interests. It cooperates with the Swiss Polar Institute (SPI) in this context.

At the international level, the Commission assumes Switzerland's membership in the International Arctic Science Committee (IASC) and in the Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research (SCAR) in the interest of Swiss science and foreign policy, and delegates scientists to organs of these multilateral institutions.

The Commission is committed to young scientists by involving the Swiss Committee of APECS (Association of Polar Early Career Scientists) in its work and by awarding the Prix de Quervain for outstanding Master's, PhD or Postdoc theses.
