Spotlights: SQI Voucher Call 2024

In 2024, the Swiss Quantum Initiative (SQI) launched a voucher call to strengthen Switzerland’s quantum ecosystem. In this series, we highlight a selection of the supported projects.

A total of 69 vouchers were awarded to promote the broad and effective use of existing infrastructures, platforms, and services for quantum science and innovation. The vouchers are intended to support projects with a mid-range Technology Readiness Level (TRL), helping bridge the gap between research and application.

Voucher applications were required to address at least one of the following areas:

  • Quantum communication
  • Quantum computation
  • Quantum simulation
  • Quantum sensing and metrology

Applications in the following areas were also welcomed:

  • Materials for quantum devices
  • Control hardware and systems engineering
  • Quantum theory
  • Computer science
