SwissBOL – yesterday, today and tomorrow
Public Symposium
The SwissBOL meeting will focus on the good practices for the use and exchange of genetic data relevant for the inventory of Swiss biodiversity.
The association Swiss Barcode of Life (SwissBOL) and the GBIF Swiss node have been working together in order to integrate genetic information to the observational data of faunistic, floristic and cryptogamic databases. The main common objective is to collect, compile and make accessible pertinent data via a unique national platform. The SwissBOL meeting will focus on the good practices for the use and exchange of genetic data relevant for the inventory of Swiss biodiversity. The different problems encountered when dealing with genetic data coming from diversified sources will be presented and discussed in order to minimise future incompatibilities and to introduce the input matrix to the future users.
During the annual general assembly of the SwissBOL Association the strategic development of the association will be discussed. Statutory issues, such as the activities developed during 2016 and 2017 and those to be developed in 2018, will also be examined.
