Konzept Nationales Forschungsprogramm Klima 2024 plus
Die zur Erreichung der Klimaziele notwendige Transformation stellt eine enorme technische, politische und sozioökonomische Herausforderung dar, bietet aber auch Chancen. Während die Umgestaltung der Energieversorgung in der Schweiz bereits in verschiedenen Forschungsprogrammen beleuchtet wurde, fehlte dies für Fragen zur gesellschaftlichen Transformation. Die Publikation bietet nun eine Übersicht über bestehende Fragen und Forschungslücken und skizziert ein Konzept für ein entsprechendes Forschungsprogramm.
The introduction of the new weather model ICON marks a milestone in Swiss weather forecasting
The Federal Office of Meteorology and Climatology (MeteoSwiss) is operationally launching the cutting-edge weather and climate model ICON (Icosahedral Nonhydrostatic Weather and Climate Model). Replacing the COSMO weather forecast model used previously, it increases the reliability and efficiency of meteorological forecasts in Switzerland.
Call for nomination of experts to Scoping Meeting for Methodology Report on Carbon Dioxide Removal Technologies and Carbon Capture Utilization and Storage
The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) is calling on its member governments and observer organizations to nominate experts to the meeting that will draft the outline of the Methodology Report on the Carbon Dioxide Removal Technologies and Carbon Capture Utilization and Storage. Focal points are expected to submit nominations by midnight CEST on Friday, 19 July 2024.
