It is not very obvious in our everyday life, but as earthlings we are in fact on a grand journey trough the vastness of the Universe. Year after year, we complete a full revolution around our home star, the sun. We are therefore part of a big space mobile which contains stars, planets, moons, comets and other celestial objects.
Since the age of spaceflight also man-made vessels add to the universal inventory. Satellites swarm around the earth and space probes are visiting our neighboring planets.
The sun itself is part of a big stellar system, which we call the Milky Way. Trough the lens of a telescope we are able to look even beyond the borders of the Milky Way and observe more distant galaxies.
