SEFS 13, Symposium for european freshwater sciences

18 - 23 June 2023, Newcastle, UK

The Freshwater Biological Association is delighted to announce that the 13th Symposium for European Freshwater Sciences (SEFS13) will run as a live (in-person) conference from 18 – 23 June 2023. Following the amazing offerings of SEFS12 which was in an online-only format due to COVID-19, this is the first time in four years that the freshwater community will have the opportunity to meet in-person at a SEFS conference, and we can’t wait to welcome you to Newcastle, in the UK.

We will deliver an exciting programme of plenary talks alongside parallel, special and poster sessions. Much-anticipated mid-conference excursions will showcase the best of north east England’s environment, culture and heritage. There will also be extensive opportunities for networking and socialising between sessions and at the conference gala dinner, which will take place in St James’ Park (the home of Newcastle United). Training and workshop opportunities tailored towards early career colleagues will be organised by the early career (EFYR) group of the European Federation of Freshwater Sciences and the FBA's Early Career Network.
